Week 16 of the CASE challenge already! Today’s card is a beautifully elegant card from Catherine Proctor, more info here. Her original card was so lovely, I really didn’t want to change much about the design at all, just a slight tweak to the colours and folders used.
I decided to go with cream and gold rather than white, so I started with a square card base in Thick Very Vanilla, measuring 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. I cut a layer of Crumb Cake at 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″, then cut my squares in standard Very Vanilla, measuring 1 1/2″ square each. I ran each one through an embossing folder, tied some Gold thread around the one in the centre, then glued the whole thing together with Tombow.
Honestly, this card was so simple to make, and would fit a huge number of occasions. Just add a sentiment of your choice to the centre or bottom, and this would make a lovely birthday, wedding, get well, thank you, or indeed any occasions card! Putting a navy or black background could easily turn this into a male card too.
If you joined in with this challenge, be sure to head to the Craft with Emma Facebook page and share your creations.
If you’re following this challenge, you’ve hopefully joined me from Becki Ritson at Sunshine Stamping. Your next stop now is Sandra Roberts at Sandra’s Stamp & Craft Studio to see her take on this week’s challenge, follow this link here!
For next week, it was Becki’s choice, and she’s picked this lovely card by the talented Carolyn King. You can find her blog here showing the project we’ll be CASE’ing next week if you want to join in. It’s a great card for using up odds and ends, and I’ve certainly got plenty of those! (I bet you do too!)
Come back next week to see the cards Becki, Sandra and I have made using Carolyn’s card as inspiration.
Remember, we want YOU to join in too! If you’d like to join in the challenge, please go to my Facebook page Craft with Emma where you can share your creations, I’d love to see what you come up with!
