Case challenge 18 – Winter sketch 2

Welcome to week 18 on the CASE challenge!  We're using another winter sketch as inspiration, this time from the wonderfully creative Windy Ellard, more info here.  While I just love her original card, I don't actually have the stamp set she used.  But CASEing isn't just copying, it's letting yourself be inspired by someone's creation so you can make something with your own stash.  So, still very much in Christmas mode, I thought I'd fall back on an oldie but goodie. I started with a thick Whisper White card base, then a Night of Navy cardstock layer and then [...]

Case challenge 17 – using up scraps

Case challenge 15 – winter sketch

Week 15 on the CASE challenge, and we're really getting festive now.  This week's inspiration was the winter sketch of a gorgeous card by Chris Smith, more info here.  As soon as I saw this card, I knew exactly how I wanted to CASE it.  I've fallen completely in love with the Snowflake Showcase suite of products, only available during November.  I knew the snowflakes would work perfectly with this design. I started with some thick Whisper White as my base, and used a layer of Night of Navy under another strip of normal Whisper White card.  Rather than embossing, [...]

Cookie Cutter magnetic bookmark

Hi there!  Today I've been making magnetic bookmarks to send out with the new Stampin' Up! Autumn/Winter catalogue, and I thought I'd do a quick tutorial to show you just how easy it is to make this cute project.   Start by stamping the gingerbread man stamp in Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and punch out using the coordinating punch. Then stamp the Santa image using Basic Black.  Colour in using brush markers, I used Real Red, Basic Black, Crushed Curry (for the detail on his belt) and Blushing Bride (for his face).     Punch out your [...]
